Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Kajiado, Kiambu and Nandi counties on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, to facilitate scheduled power maintenance.
According to the utility’s planned maintenance notice, the interruptions will affect selected areas in Nairobi North, Nkoroi and Matasia in Kajiado County, Rumenye in Kiambu County, and Olessos Technical in Nandi County.
The scheduled outages will begin between 8.00 am and 10.00 am, depending on the location, with restoration times varying across the affected areas.
Residents, businesses and institutions in the listed locations should take note of the maintenance schedule and make appropriate arrangements.
Nairobi power outage: Ngara and Westlands
In Nairobi, electricity supply will be interrupted in parts of Ngara and Westlands from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Kenya Power has listed parts of Kolobot Road, Taarifu Road, Ojijo Road, Westlands Hill, Chiromo Road, Muthithi Road and Mpaka Road among the affected locations. Woodvale Road, ABC Bank, Paramount Plaza and adjacent customers are also included in the notice.
Residents and businesses in these areas should prepare for the scheduled eight-hour maintenance window.
Kajiado blackout: Nkoroi and Matasia
In Kajiado County, planned power maintenance will affect Nkoroi and Matasia from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The affected locations include Kimani Road, Gataka Road, Mayor Road and Masai Lodge Road. Other listed areas and customers include Nazarene University, Olekasasi, Tuala, Sigma Feeds, Emakoko, Kedlenye and adjacent customers.
Customers in these locations should plan for the nine-hour interruption, particularly if their daily activities depend on electricity.
Kiambu power interruption: Rumenye
In Kiambu County, parts of Rumenye will experience a scheduled electricity interruption from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The notice identifies part of Rumenye, the Safaricom Data Centre and adjacent customers as affected by the planned maintenance.
Nandi blackout: Olessos Technical
In the North Rift Region, Kenya Power has scheduled an interruption affecting Olessos Technical, Timbili and Cheptuingeny in Nandi County.
The outage is scheduled to run from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, making it the shortest maintenance window listed in the notice.
