Detectives from Kayole Police Station have arrested one person of interest linked to a violent robbery that disrupted a women’s chama meeting at a salon in Saika, Nairobi, on July 26, 2026.
According to an X statement on Tuesday, August 4, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the suspect, was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation conducted in the Korogocho area.According to investigators,
The person of interest and another suspect who is still at large allegedly stormed the salon while armed with a pistol and robbed the women of Sh50,000 and several mobile phones.

“The suspect together with his accomplice who remains at large, stormed the salon, while armed with a pistol, and robbed a group of unsuspecting women of Sh50,000 and mobile phones,” DCI stated.
How the robbery happened
The robbery, which occurred during what had been a peaceful social gathering, caused panic among the victims as the armed attackers reportedly threatened them before making away with the cash and phones.
Following the arrest, detectives recovered a motorcycle registration number KMDE 47*B, which is believed to have been used by the suspects during the operation. Officers also recovered two knives, which have been retained as exhibits.
The DCI said the suspect is currently being processed ahead of his arraignment in court.
“Detectives are pursuing additional leads to trail and apprehend the remaining suspect who is still at large,” the agency said in a statement.
