Parts of 5 counties to experience power cuts on Tuesday, August 25 – Kenya Power

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in selected parts of Migori, Homa Bay, Laikipia and Marsabit counties on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The scheduled outages will affect households, businesses, institutions and other electricity customers in the listed areas, with interruptions lasting between seven and nine hours depending on the location.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan ahead and make arrangements for the period when electricity supply will be unavailable.

Migori power cuts

In Migori County, Kenya Power has listed Taranganya and Kobinto for a planned interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The utility’s notice lists the affected areas as: “Whole of Kobito, Parts of Taranganya, Getotira, Masangora, Getonganya, Nyamotambe & adjacent customers.”

The interruption is expected to run for eight and a half hours.

Homa Bay power cuts

In Homa Bay County, customers in Waondo and Kitare will experience a planned interruption from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to Kenya Power, the affected locations include “Pamela Mboya, Koyani Centre, Kitare, Kayanja, Waondo, Luanda Nyamasare & adjacent customers.”

The scheduled outage will last eight hours.

Laikipia power cuts

In Laikipia County, Kenya Power has scheduled an interruption in Ibis Farm and Mia Moja from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The notice identifies the affected locations as “Ibis Farm, Kirimara, Magutu, Mia Moja, Ngenia, Sirimon, GAW, Kithithina, Kwa Makara, Magutu, Kwa Mumero, Graton & adjacent customers.”

Customers in the listed areas should expect electricity supply to be unavailable for up to nine hours.

Marsabit power cuts

In Marsabit County, the planned interruption will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kenya Power has listed the affected area as “Whole of Marsabit Town, Karare, Marsabit Level V Hosp, Kituruni, Sasura & adjacent customers.”

The scheduled interruption will affect customers for eight hours.

Kenya Power outage schedule

The notice covers four counties and provides specific times and locations for Tuesday’s planned electricity interruptions. Customers within the listed areas should take note of the applicable time window and prepare for the temporary loss of power.

The utility’s notice specifically includes “adjacent customers” among those who may be affected, meaning customers near the named locations should also pay attention to the scheduled interruption.

The outages will affect different areas at different times, with Laikipia recording the longest scheduled interruption of up to nine hours.
