The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has summoned nine public service vehicle (PSV) operators over what it describes as serious safety concerns, requiring the affected companies and Sacco to appear before the Authority on September 8, 2026.
The notice was issued by the NTSA Communication Office on Monday, August 31, 2026, as the transport regulator exercises its powers over public service vehicle operations in Kenya.
“In exercising its powers, the Authority has summoned a number of public service vehicle operators after observing serious safety concerns,” NTSA said in the notice.
The Authority did not provide details of the specific safety concerns involving each operator. It also did not state in the notice whether the summons would lead to suspension, penalties, licence action or any other regulatory measures.
The nine PSV operators named in the notice are Moyale Raha Transporter’s Company Limited, Etams Classic Limited, Eastern Link Travellers Company Limited, Manchester Travellers Coach Limited, Lake Naivasha Maii-Mahiu Line Service Limited, Sabaki Travellers Saving and Credit Co-operative Society Limited, Lumasa County Sacco, Bluemarks Shuttles Sacco Limited and Nyamira Luxury Express Company Limited.
The summons come as NTSA continues to exercise its regulatory mandate over Kenya’s public transport sector, where passenger safety and compliance with transport regulations remain key concerns for operators, drivers and commuters.
Operators to appear
According to the NTSA communication, the nine operators are required to appear before the Authority on September 8, 2026.
There is, however, a separate date shown next to Moyale Raha Transporter’s Company Limited in the notice. The operator’s name is followed by “3rd September 2026” in red. The notice does not explain what the September 3 date represents or whether it relates to a separate requirement.
The clearest general instruction contained in the communication is that the operators are required to appear before NTSA on September 8, 2026.
The distinction is important because the notice does not state that all nine operators are required to appear on September 3. Instead, September 3 is specifically displayed alongside the name of Moyale Raha Transporter’s Company Limited, while September 8 is given in the paragraph addressing the operators collectively.
NTSA’s action means the affected PSV operators will have to engage directly with the regulator over the safety concerns identified by the Authority. Until NTSA provides further details, the notice does not establish the nature or seriousness of the individual issues attributed to any particular operator.

For passengers using public service vehicles operated by the nine named companies and Sacco, the announcement signals increased regulatory scrutiny but does not, on its own, announce that any of the operators has been suspended or barred from operating.
The next significant date in the notice is September 8, 2026, when the nine PSV operators are expected to appear before NTSA.
The Authority has not yet disclosed further details on what prompted the summons or what action may follow the operators’ appearance.
