The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) will hold its 2026 graduation ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at its Nairobi South B Campus, setting a series of deadlines for prospective graduands to complete clearance, confirm their names, pay graduation fees and collect academic gowns.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m., with the academic procession set to begin at 9:00 a.m. KIMC said the event will be held in both physical and virtual formats and streamed live through its official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The announcement provides prospective graduands with a timetable of requirements running from October 12, ahead of the ceremony, through May 2027, when the collection period for graduation certificates ends.

Name verification comes first
The first major deadline is October 12, 2026, when all graduands must have confirmed the spelling and order of their names as they should appear on their certificates.
KIMC said corrections should be sent to the Registrar (Academic Affairs) through [email protected].
Only corrections involving the spelling or order of names will be accepted. The institute will not introduce new names that differ from those appearing on a graduand’s National ID or admission letter.
Prospective graduands eligible for the award of Diplomas and Certificates for the 2025/2026 Academic Year must then complete clearance with their respective departments, Finance and the Registrar between October 19 and October 30, 2026.
The Graduation Clearance Form and Personal Data Consent Forms are available through the KIMC website’s academic downloads section.

KIMC sets fee at Ksh3,500
The 2026 KIMC graduation fee is Ksh3,500, according to the institute.
The non-refundable convocation fee becomes payable from October 19, 2026, through e-Citizen using the Student Management Information System (SMIS) platform. KIMC has directed graduands to its website for detailed payment instructions.
Graduation gown collection will run from November 4 to November 9, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Gowns will be issued after the required clearance has been completed.
Graduands must return the gowns by November 27, 2026. KIMC said late returns will attract a charge of Ksh500 per day, capped at Ksh10,000.
A lost gown will require a replacement payment of Ksh15,000.
Rehearsal set for November 10
KIMC will conduct a compulsory graduation rehearsal on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Graduation Square.
All graduands are required to attend the rehearsal in full academic attire.
On graduation day, guests are expected to be seated by 8:30 a.m., while the academic procession will commence promptly at 9:00 a.m.
The graduation booklet will be available for download from Friday, November 6, through the KIMC website’s academic downloads section.
The ceremony itself will begin at 8:00 a.m. on November 11 at the Nairobi South B Campus.
Certificates available in 2027
Graduands will be able to collect their graduation certificates from Monday, February 1, 2027, to Friday, May 7, 2027.
KIMC said certificates that are not collected within that period will attract storage charges.
For information about the 2026 graduation ceremony, KIMC training programmes or course application procedures, the institute has provided its website, www.kimc.ac.ke, as the main information point. Enquiries can also be directed to [email protected] or 0708 262 895.
The institute’s 2026 graduation schedule therefore gives prospective graduands several dates to track, beginning with the October 12 name-correction deadline and culminating in the May 7, 2027, certificate-collection deadline.
