Who were the nine victims of the Florida plane crash?

The Robinson family suffered one of the most heartbreaking losses in the disaster. Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, and their two young children, Emma, aged four, and Charlie, aged two, were all aboard the ill-fated aircraft.

The couple’s family described them as devoted parents whose children were the centre of their lives. In a statement following the tragedy, relatives remembered Adam and Helen for their warmth, generosity and ability to make people feel welcome.

Their statement also paid tribute to the two children, describing Emma and Charlie as the light of their parents’ lives.

Charmi Fehr and Rachael Reed, who were family friends, were also among those killed. Their loved ones remembered them as people who embraced life, adventure and the relationships they cherished.

Anita Maria Cetina, the Robinson family’s nanny, was the ninth passenger identified. The family described her as someone who cared for Emma and Charlie with tenderness and devotion, adding that she had become a true member of their family.

The two flight crew members were also identified as Captain Jeffrey Gregory and co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras, 20.

Gregory was 55, while Filgueiras was a young aviation professional whose passion for flying reportedly began at an early age. Her family said becoming a pilot had been her dream since childhood.

What happened to the Learjet 60 in Florida?

The aircraft was travelling from Austin, Texas, towards the Bahamas when it crashed in the Greenacres area of Palm Beach County on Sunday afternoon.

According to preliminary information presented by investigators, the flight encountered challenging weather conditions, including moderate turbulence and ice accumulation.

Air traffic control communications revealed that the flight crew reported problems with ice before declaring an emergency. The aircraft subsequently entered a rapid descent before crashing.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the disaster.

Investigators are examining the aircraft’s final communications, flight data and prevailing weather conditions. However, no definitive cause of the crash has been established.
