Kenya Power lists areas set for power interruptions on Sunday, September 6

Residents and businesses in parts of Kilifi County are set to experience power interruptions on Sunday, September 6, 2026, due to scheduled maintenance by Kenya Power.

According to the utility company’s planned power maintenance notice, the outages will affect customers in parts of Kilifi Town, Bofa and Mariakani.

In Kilifi Town and Bofa, the interruption is scheduled to run from 9 am to 4 pm.

Areas expected to be affected include Kilifi Navy, Baobab Resort, Kilifi Kenya Power office, Kilifi County offices, Kilifi Bay Beach Resort, Mephi, Kiwadani and Kilifi Prison.

TIME: 9.00 A.M. – 4.00 P.M. Kilifi Navy, Baobab Resort, Kilifi KPLC Office, Kilifi County Office, Kilifi Bay Beach Resort, Mephi, Kiwadani, Kilifi Prison, Carrefour S/Mkt, Naivas S/Mkt, Kilifi Referral Hosp & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power noted.

Customers around Carrefour Supermarket, Naivas Supermarket, Kilifi Referral Hospital and neighbouring areas will also be affected.

In Mariakani, the planned outage will run for a longer period, from 9 am to 5 pm.

The affected areas include Mariakani Town, Bamba, Kadzonzo, Roche, Shreeji, Mariakani Barracks, the Mariakani Weighbridge, Mariakani Police Station, Mariakani Catholic Church, Miracle Church, Mkilo, Kalalani, Msufini and World Poles.

Kenya Power said the interruption is part of planned maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the electricity supply network.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled interruption.

The utility company also cautioned customers to treat all power lines as live and dangerous, even when electricity has been switched off for maintenance.
