Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Migori, Nyeri and Kitui counties on Friday, September 11, 2026, to facilitate maintenance work.
The utility company said the interruptions will affect several residential estates, businesses and institutions between morning and evening, depending on the location.
In Nairobi County, areas of Donholm, Jacaranda and Kayole Spine Road will experience an outage from 9 am to 5 pm.
Affected areas include Salute Apartments, Umoja 2 SDA, Davana Hotel, Jacaranda Estate, Carmel Vale, Edenvale Schools, part of Donholm Phase 8, Greenspan Mall and neighbouring customers.
Residents and businesses in Runda will also be without electricity from 9 am to 5 pm, with Kenya Power listing Runda and adjacent customers among those affected.
In Upper Hill, the interruption will run from 9am to 5pm, affecting areas around Railways Club, British High Commission, NIC Bank, Upper Hill Road, UAB, Matumbuatu, Uhuru Park, Kindaruma Road, Kiambere Road, KWFT Headquarters and Masaba Road.
In Migori County, Kenya Power said parts of Masaba and Kehancha will experience an interruption from 8:30am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Masaba, Nyanchabo, Migori Airstrip, KEFRI, Kombe, Korubunyige, Nyamagagana, Narolong, Kehancha Primary School and Goikonge.
Meanwhile, parts of Nyeri County, including Mutathini and Lilongwe, will experience an outage from 9am to 5pm.
The interruption will affect Mutathini Market, Lilongwe, Mutathini Booster, Mutathini PCEA, Karibaini and neighbouring customers.
In Kitui County, residents in Mbondoni and Kavaini and surrounding areas will experience the longest scheduled interruption, running from 8am to 5pm.
Areas listed among those affected include Mbondoni, Kiomo, Kioo, Maiyuni, Kavaini, Mbakini, Kwa Muthusi, Yenzuva, Kavaloi, Kanyaa, Kalimbui, Nguutani, Kakululo and Syongoni.
Kenya Power advised customers to plan accordingly and said interruption notices can be accessed through its official website.
