Kenya Power has announced a planned power maintenance exercise that will affect customers along Mombasa Road in Nairobi on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
The scheduled maintenance is part of the utility company’s efforts to maintain and improve its electricity distribution network.
According to a notice issued by Kenya Power, the maintenance will take place in the Nairobi Region, specifically within the Mombasa Road area.
The exercise is scheduled to begin at 9.00am and run until 5.00pm on Saturday.
Kenya Power said the affected area will include Alliance Concrete, Portland, and adjacent customers.
Customers and businesses operating within the affected locations have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the planned maintenance period.

The eight-hour exercise is expected to disrupt the normal electricity supply in the listed areas as Kenya Power carries out the scheduled works.
The utility company routinely conducts planned maintenance across different parts of the country to facilitate repairs, upgrades and other activities aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the electricity distribution network.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are therefore expected to plan their activities around the scheduled outage, particularly those whose operations depend heavily on electricity.
The notice is part of Kenya Power’s regular communication to customers ahead of planned maintenance exercises, allowing affected households and businesses to prepare for temporary interruptions.
The company has urged customers to treat the stated maintenance period as a guide, as restoration of electricity may depend on the nature and progress of the works.
The Mombasa Road corridor hosts numerous businesses, industries and commercial establishments, making reliable electricity supply important to daily operations.
Customers affected by the planned maintenance are encouraged to remain alert to any further communication from Kenya Power regarding the exercise.
The utility company continues to publish planned maintenance schedules covering different regions and areas to keep customers informed of anticipated power interruptions.
For customers within Alliance Concrete, Portland and neighbouring areas, the scheduled maintenance will run from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
