Right of Reply Policy

Our Commitment to Fairness

Ronnie TV recognises that individuals, businesses, organisations and public institutions may need an opportunity to respond to significant information published about them. This Right of Reply Policy explains how affected parties can submit a response to a report published on ronnietv.co.ke and how such requests are considered.

What Is a Right of Reply?

A right of reply allows a person or organisation directly affected by a report to provide relevant clarification, factual information, context or a response to matters concerning them.

A right of reply is different from a request for a correction. Where a response identifies a genuine factual error, the matter may also be considered under our Corrections Policy.

Who Can Request a Reply?

Requests may be submitted by individuals directly mentioned in a report, organisations discussed in a report, authorised representatives, public institutions or legal representatives acting on behalf of an affected party. Ronnie TV may request confirmation of authority where necessary.

How to Submit a Request

Requests should be submitted through our Contact Us page and should include:

  1. The name and contact details of the requester.
  2. The headline and link to the relevant article.
  3. The specific statements being addressed.
  4. The proposed response.
  5. Supporting documents or evidence where relevant.
  6. The name and position of the person submitting the request, where applicable.

Clear and specific requests help our editorial team assess the matter efficiently.

Editorial Review

Every request is subject to editorial review. Ronnie TV may consider the significance of the original report, whether the requester is directly affected, the relevance and accuracy of the proposed response, supporting evidence, public interest and applicable editorial or legal considerations.

A response may be published as an update, added to the original article, published separately or presented in another appropriate editorial format.

Ronnie TV may edit an accepted response for length, clarity, grammar, formatting or legal reasons without deliberately changing its substance.

When a Reply May Be Declined

Ronnie TV may decline material that is defamatory, threatening, abusive, unlawful, deliberately misleading, irrelevant, excessively repetitive, primarily promotional or likely to cause unnecessary harm to another person.

Submitting a response does not guarantee publication.

Political Figures and Businesses

Political leaders, public officials, businesses and organisations are subject to the same general right-of-reply principles. Political status, popularity or commercial relationships will not determine whether a response is accepted.
