The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has revised the timetable for its ward-level grassroots elections in 16 counties, with the affected counties now set to hold polls between October 2 and October 17, 2026.
The changes were announced by the party’s National Elections Board in a notice dated Thursday, September 24, replacing an earlier timetable issued on September 12.
Under the new schedule, Kisii and Nandi will hold their ward-level elections on Friday, October 2, while Kericho, Baringo, Bungoma, Isiolo, Marsabit, Wajir and Mombasa will vote on Saturday, October 3.
The party has set Monday, September 28, at 5:00 PM as the registration deadline for members in the counties scheduled to vote on October 2 and 3.
The elections are part of UDA’s ongoing efforts to organise its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The revised calendar will see Samburu County hold its ward-level grassroots elections on Friday, October 16.

Six counties: Tana River, Vihiga, Mandera, Nakuru, Bomet and Tharaka Nithi will vote on Saturday, October 17.
For these counties, the registration deadline has been set for Saturday, October 10 at 5:00 PM.
UDA said voting on all the respective election dates will run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The revised programme pushes another round of ward-level elections into the second half of October.
Samburu will conduct its elections on Friday, October 16, while Tana River, Vihiga, Mandera, Nakuru, Bomet and Tharaka Nithi will vote on Saturday, October 17.
Members in these counties have until Saturday, October 10 at 5pm to complete registration.
UDA said voting will take place between 8 am and 5 pm on each election day.
The National Elections Board, chaired by Anthony Mwaura, directed party members, polling-centre officials and other stakeholders affected by the changes to take note of the revised dates and make the necessary preparations.
Why UDA is restructuring its grassroots network
The party has already been conducting elections at the polling-centre level, with the next phase focusing on ward officials. Recent UDA activities have involved thousands of grassroots officials as the ruling party seeks to establish a functioning structure ahead of the 2027 contest.
The grassroots exercise comes as political parties across Kenya intensify their organisational activities less than a year before the next General Election. UDA’s activities have included meetings with polling-centre officials and mobilisation exercises in different counties.
The latest timetable therefore places the party’s internal elections on a rolling schedule stretching from early to mid-October, with members required to register ahead of the respective voting dates.
