Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance in parts of Nairobi and several counties on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with affected customers expected to experience interruptions between the morning and evening hours.
“Good Evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (01.10.2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations.”
Most of the scheduled maintenance will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., although some areas have different interruption periods.
In Nairobi, the maintenance will affect customers around Olenguruone Road, Kenyatta and Ngumo.
For Olenguruone Road, the scheduled interruption will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas listed include parts of Olenguruone, Gatundu Road and Mzima Springs, as well as Tende Drive, Musa Gitau, Kangemi Waruku, Kanjata Crescent, St. Mary’s School and Nairobi International School.
Other affected locations include Kabaserian Avenue, Convent Drive, Muthangari Police, Maji Mazuri, Kawangware Gatina, Mbabane, Apple Close, Chalbi Drive, parts of James Gichuru, Njumbi Road, IPSOS Synovate, Amboseli Lane and Amboseli Road.

Kenya Power also scheduled maintenance around Kenyatta and Ngumo from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The notice lists KMTC, Daystar, parts of Kenyatta Hospital, Kenyatta Estate, Kenyatta Market, Highview Phase 1 and 2, Magiwa Estate, Ngumo Central and Mbagathi Hospital among the affected locations.
Mbagathi Girls, Highrise, Canaan, Nairobi West Prison, parts of Sunshine School, City Mortuary, Magiwa, Kimalel Primary and Secondary schools, Forces Memorial, Umash, Montezuma Funeral Homes, Akiba 2 and KEMRI are also included.
Kisii and Migori
In Kisii County, maintenance in Tabaka and Nyamarambe is scheduled from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Customers in Tabaka Market, Riosiri, Nyabigena, Orencho, Nyakembene, Kiamobundu, Nyamarambe, Ensaka, Gesonso, Mochengo, Nyangweta and Gotichaki are among those listed.
In Migori County, the interruption in Ikerege and Getonganya will run from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected areas include the whole of Ikerege Town, parts of Taranganya and Isebania Town, Nyamaranya, Kiamokebe and Gokeharaka.
Vihiga, Kirinyaga, Kiambu and Kitui
In Vihiga County, maintenance is scheduled in Mwai Kibaki Farm from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting locations including Karichuta Primary School, Mwichuiri Primary School, Kambi Primary School, Kahuho Primary School, Blueline Market, Rware Water Pump, Rware Bore Hole, AAA Growers, Gitinga Market and Kamburaini.
Customers in Mukurweini Town will also experience an interruption during the same period. Kenya Power listed KCB, Rubis, Magunas Supermarket, Telcom, Wakulima Dairy, Mukurweini Law Courts, Omwasco and Mukurweini Hospital among the affected facilities and locations.

The utility further listed Gakindu, Wahundura and Tambaya and surrounding areas for maintenance from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
In Kirinyaga County, customers around Baricho, Kiandai and Thiguku will be affected during the same maintenance window. The listed locations include Kiandai Market, Baricho Market, Riamugaa Village, Kiambwe C/Fact, Baricho DO’s Office, Baricho Police Post, Kareria and Mukithi.
In Kiambu County, the interruption in Maraba and Nyacaba is scheduled from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting Kirathimo Village, Muthaara Shopping Centre, Kamuthi Village, Kwa Magu Village, Nyacaba Flat, Kwa Wamilia Shopping Centre, Budhia Quarry and Muhaka Estate.
Kitui County will have the earliest start and longest scheduled maintenance window among the areas listed. The outage in Katwala, Mbitini and Voo will run from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations include Katwala Market, Katwala Primary and Secondary schools, Katiliku, Mbitini, Kilamba, Kiangwa, Yaathi, Makolongo, Musukio, Kinakone, Kyango, Voo, Kivutini and Kanduti.
Kenya Power advised customers in the affected locations to take note of the scheduled interruptions.
The notice also directs customers to the utility’s official channels, including its website, kplc.co.ke, and customer-care contacts.
