Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect customers in Nairobi, Nandi, Vihiga, Migori, Nyeri and Kirinyaga counties on Monday, September 28, 2026.
The scheduled power interruptions will take place at different times depending on the location, with some areas expected to remain without electricity for most of the working day.
“Good evening, please find the areas scheduled for power maintenance tomorrow, Monday 28th September 2026,” the utility firm said.
Nairobi power outages
In Nairobi, Kenya Power has scheduled maintenance in the Oloitoktok Road and Riara area from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The affected locations include Oloitoktok Road, parts of Gitanga Road, Mararo, parts of Argwings Khodhek Road, Ole Dume, Riara Road, Makindi Road, parts of Ngong Road, parts of Joseph Kangethe, parts of Jamhuri Estate and adjacent customers.
The notice also lists Mbaazi Avenue and Hatheru Road among the Nairobi areas covered by the planned maintenance.
Nandi, Vihiga areas
In Nandi County, maintenance at Tinderet Tea Factory will affect Chepkemel, Tinderet Tea Factory, Mbogo Valley and adjacent customers.
In Vihiga County, the Mudete area will experience a planned power interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The affected locations are Evojo, Mudete, Lososi, Lusengeli, Kaimosi Sawmill and adjacent customers.
Migori power outage
Customers in parts of Migori County will also be affected by planned maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Kenya Power listed Kiamokebe and Nyamaranya as the affected areas. The interruption will cover Kiamokebe Centre, Gokeharaka, Ntisinye, Ngugu, Nyamaranya, parts of Isebania and adjacent customers.
Nyeri, Kirinyaga schedule
In Nyeri County, maintenance covering Muthinga, Gititu and Mung’aria is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The affected locations include Sagana Falls Local Transformer, Ihigaini, Gakoe Coffee Factory, Mung’aria Coffee Factory, Kaigonde, Kangubiri Senior School, parts of Kanderendu, parts of Muthinga, Kanyi Transformer, Gititu Market Dispensary and adjacent customers.
A separate maintenance exercise around Sasini and KWS Offices will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Areas listed include Lady of Lourdes, Embassy, Njengu, Baraka Estate, Eunice Academy and adjacent customers.
In Kirinyaga County, planned maintenance around Kangaita and Karaini will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., affecting Kangaita Tea Factory, Old Kangaita Market, Kiranja Junction, Kiamwangi, Mutuma, Kamuruana and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power advised customers in the listed locations to take note of the scheduled maintenance and plan accordingly.
