Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, affecting selected areas in Nairobi, Kiambu, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Nyeri, Embu, Kitui, Kilifi and Mombasa counties.
The scheduled power interruptions will take place as Kenya Power carries out planned maintenance on its electricity network. Most of the affected areas will be without electricity between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm, while parts of Kitui County are scheduled for maintenance from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Nairobi areas affected by planned power maintenance
In Nairobi, Kenya Power has listed part of Karen along Bogani Road among the areas scheduled for maintenance.
The affected locations include part of Bogani Road, Kumbe Road, Baobab Estate and adjacent customers.
The maintenance is scheduled from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Parts of Gachie will also experience a planned electricity interruption during the same period. The affected locations include Gachie, Waiver Bird, Kinanda Road, Kihara Road and adjacent customers.
Uasin Gishu power interruption areas
In Uasin Gishu County, maintenance will affect Kapkoi and Bayete from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Kenya Power listed Cheptiret Primary School, Kapkoi, Kapkoiga, Kerita, Koiluget, Rurigi, Ndungulu, Megun, Chelalachibei, Kapkeno, Ndanai, Tarakwa, Burnt Forest, Kondoo, Cherus and adjacent customers.
Kisumu power interruption areas
In Kisumu County, the scheduled maintenance will affect Guba Market.
The notice lists Wathorego Market, Alango Market and adjacent customers among the affected locations. The interruption is scheduled from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Nyeri and Embu power interruption areas
In the Mt Kenya region, Kenya Power has scheduled maintenance around Tree Tops.
Affected locations include Expages, Mweiga Mary Immaculate Hospital, Tree Tops, Sasini Estate, Njengu, Waihenya Estate, Mweiga Estate Water Pump and adjacent customers.
In Embu County, the planned interruption will affect Mutuobare and Kiambere.
