The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise that will temporarily affect access to its Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS) on Friday, October 2, 2026.
According to the notice issued by the tax authority, eTIMS services will be unavailable to all users for two hours, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
KRA advised taxpayers and other eTIMS users to take note of the scheduled downtime as the authority carries out the maintenance exercise.
“Please be advised that eTIMS will undergo scheduled maintenance today, Friday, 2nd October 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.” KRA said in the notice.
The authority further confirmed that access to the platform would be temporarily interrupted during the maintenance window.
“During this period, eTIMS services will be temporarily unavailable to all users,” the statement said.

The maintenance is part of efforts by KRA to improve the reliability and delivery of its digital tax services. eTIMS is a key platform used by taxpayers to manage electronic tax invoicing and related compliance requirements.
Businesses and other taxpayers who rely on eTIMS are therefore expected to plan their invoicing activities around the two-hour interruption.
KRA also apologised to users who may be affected by the temporary service disruption, while assuring them that the exercise is aimed at enhancing service delivery.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience as we work to enhance service delivery,” KRA said.

KRA eTIMS maintenance schedule
The scheduled maintenance will take place on:
- Date: Friday, October 2, 2026
- Start time: 8:00 p.m.
- End time: 10:00 p.m.
- Duration: Two hours
- Affected service: eTIMS
- Users affected: All eTIMS users
Taxpayers who need to access eTIMS services are advised to complete time-sensitive activities before the maintenance begins or after services are restored at 10:00 p.m.
The announcement comes as businesses continue to rely on digital systems for tax invoicing and compliance. Any taxpayer-facing activity requiring access to eTIMS during the scheduled maintenance period may therefore be temporarily unavailable.
KRA’s notice did not indicate any changes to eTIMS requirements or tax obligations. It specifically concerned the temporary unavailability of the platform during the scheduled maintenance window.
