Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance in parts of Nairobi, Machakos, Kakamega and Bungoma counties on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
The utility said the scheduled maintenance will result in temporary power interruptions in the affected areas as technicians carry out works on the electricity network.
“Good Evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (13.09 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” Kenya Power said in a post on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Key areas listed
In Nairobi, parts of Westlands will experience an outage from 9am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Brookside Groove, Grivellia Groove, School Lane, Matundu Lane, Muguga Green, Brookside Drive and adjacent customers.
In Machakos County, parts of Mombasa Road will also be without electricity between 9am and 5pm.
Areas listed include Alpharama, Old Mombasa Road, Petrocity, Sabaki Estate, Greatwall Gardens, Tamarind, London Distillers, Lifecare, Saphirre Business Park, Signature Mall, Ngwata, Kathangaita, KPLC Offices Mlolongo, Senior Staff, Kongoni, Crystal Rivers, Apex RMD, Apex TMD, Makadara, Mavoko Boys, KMC and neighbouring areas.
In Kakamega County, the interruption will affect areas around West Kenya Sugar from 8.30am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Chegulo, Mahima, Kulumbeni, Makhukhuni, Musaga Market, Chekata, Malava Market, Samtsi, Khalenda, West Kenya Sugar, Kambiri Market, Power Sport, Lukume Market and Shihome, among other neighbouring areas.
Meanwhile, parts of Bungoma County will experience power interruption between 8am and 5pm.
The affected areas include Munyikana, Mwalim House, parts of Dinah, United Millers, Molo, Santa Barbra, Malaha, Sirisia, Bunjosi, Webuye Jaggery, Noah Wekesa, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Makhese, Bituyu, Mkulima, Mwangale, Matulo, Milo, Ngwelo, Makhele and surrounding areas.
Kenya Power regularly schedules maintenance works to improve the reliability and safety of the electricity distribution network.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and treat all power lines as live because electricity may be restored before the scheduled completion time.
