Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi and the Mt Kenya region on Friday, September 25, 2026, as the utility carries out scheduled power maintenance.
Customers in Kitsuru, Muruguru, Gikunjū, Githindi, Kunati and Kinwe are among those expected to experience interruptions during the day. Kitsuru power outage
In the Nairobi Region, Kenya Power has listed part of Kitsuru for planned maintenance on Friday.
The scheduled interruption will run from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Areas listed as affected include part of Ngecha Road, Lake View Estate and Mitini Estate, as well as adjacent customers.
Residents and businesses in the affected locations may need to make arrangements for the temporary interruption, particularly where electricity is required for essential household, commercial or institutional activities.
Muruguru and Gikunjū are affected
The Mt Kenya Region will also have planned maintenance affecting parts of Nyeri County.
Kenya Power has scheduled an interruption in Muruguru and Gikunjū from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Friday, September 25.
The listed affected locations include Muruguru Market, Muruguru Secondary School, Muruguru Village and Gikunjū Maternity, together with adjacent customers.

Githindi, Kunati and Kinwe power interruption
