Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect parts of Nairobi, Laikipia and Garissa counties on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The utility company said the scheduled interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance works and improve the reliability of the power network.
“Good evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow ( 20.09.2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” Kenya Power stated.
In Nairobi, parts of Komarock will be without electricity from 9 am to 5 pm.
The affected areas include parts of Quarry, Komarock Phase 1, Mbuyu Court, Acacia Court, Mihango, Spring Valley, parts of Kayole, Kayole Junction, Tushauriane, Kayole 1 Market, Kayole Police Station, Matopeni, Mihango Bus Stage, Kayole Posta, Jawaka Travelers Bar and Kayole Nyaura Bus Stage, among other adjacent areas.
In Laikipia County, Kenya Power said electricity supply in Nanyuki and Mukima will be interrupted between 8 am and 3 pm.
The affected areas include Nanyuki Town, Thingithu Estate, Teachers Estate, Cedar Mall, Nanyuki High School, Laikipia Air Base, British Army Training Unit Kenya, Muthaiga Estate, Kanyoni Estate, Nanyuki General Hospital, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, 1KR, Baraka Estate, Sweetwaters, Mirera, Marura, Njoguini, Rwai Estate, Kirimo, Ichuga, Makutano Estate, Kangaita, Mathagiro, Ntrukuma, Nkando, Likii Estate, Likii Farm, Milimani, Katheri, Ontulili, Mwireri, Naibor, Jua Kali, Kimuri, Edana, Segera Mission, Ngarengiro, Ol Pejeta, Mayan Hotel, KHE Farm, Muramati, Mukima and neighbouring areas.
In Garissa County, planned maintenance will affect parts of Garissa and Balambala from 9 am to 5 pm.
The affected areas include Bula Mzuri, Hodhan, Kunaso, Bula Sambul, Mkono Hospital, Garissa Provincial General Hospital, Garissa Ndogo, Bula Madina, Bula ADC, Bula Cadan, Bula Dobale, Bula Rig, Bula Gestow, Bula Buris, Tawakal, Modika, Modika Barracks, Garissa University, Quba, Sankuri Town, Balambala, Garissa Solar Plant, Saka Town and NYS Balambala, among other adjacent customers.
Kenya Power regularly carries out planned maintenance on its network to facilitate repairs, upgrades and other works aimed at improving electricity supply.
